Scientific background

I have always been fascinated by science since I first watched Spider-Man, one of the earliest movies I remember. This inspired my interest in science, and I decided to pursue a BSc in Biotechnology at the Università di Udine in Italy, where I graduated in 2019. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted my BSc thesis in the Biochemistry lab of Prof. Luigi Xodo, where I worked on Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. This experience led me to develop a passion for precision medicine, which motivated me to move to Copenhagen to pursue an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
During my time in Copenhagen, I explored the challenges posed by some of the most notorious diseases and possible strategies for overcoming them. I graduated in 2024 after completing my MSc thesis at the Biotech Research & Innovation Center (BRIC), under the supervision of Prof. Claus Sorrensen. My research focused on the use of a novel combinatorial treatment for breast cancer, and the results I obtained encouraged me to continue with a PhD.
On 1st September 2025, I joined the Colling and Garanto Lab at Radboud UMC, where I will conduct my PhD project under the supervision of Dr. Alex Garanto. My research will focus on developing antisense oligonucleotides for inherited metabolic diseases (IMDs).

Hobbies outside science

On a more personal note, I enjoy gymnastics, playing the guitar, and exploring nature.
As a fun fact, I am particularly fond of spiders—I find them really interesting and beautiful.
